Our Lakes. Our Future.

Lakes and rivers are at the heart of the people of the Upper Tippecanoe River Watershed. They provide a focus for recreation and a place for reflection. They bring families together. Lakes and rivers help us remember our past, as well as provide a vision for the future. They are vast reservoirs of culture and tradition. They are a vital component of our economy. Healthy lakes are among the most precious gifts we can leave to our children. We have the opportunity to leave such a legacy for future generations.

The Watershed Foundation (TWF) was founded in 1997 to protect and improve water quality in the Upper Tippecanoe River Watershed; spanning from Crooked Lake in Whitley County to Lake Tippecanoe in Kosciusko County. The Clean Waters Partnership was founded a year ago as an extension of TWF in the Warsaw-Winona area. Over the past 19 years, TWF has worked with farmers and lake residents to implement over 150 water quality improvement projects. In the last three years alone, these efforts have prevented over 556 million pounds of weeds and algae from growing in area lakes and streams.

This hour-long documentary, produced by TWF and WNIT, explores the beautiful and unique aspects of our watershed. Together, we are making a difference!
